IMSA Daytona Pre-Season Track Test

MagCanica continued its 2024 track support schedule with a successful outing at Daytona Beach for the IMSA 2025 Pre-Season Track Test. Mechanical Engineering Manager Alvin Chak, Software Engineer Clay Walker, and Mechanical Engineer Gary Fernicola attended the event, which spanned three days. During the test, 12 GTP (Hypercar Class) cars and 12 GTD (GT3 Class) cars took to the track across multiple sessions, including the highly anticipated debut of the V12-powered Aston Martin Valkyrie.  This was the first time that all GTD cars began running the MagCanica torquemeters in addition to the GTP cars.  Indeed, looking ahead to 2025, IMSA has mandated the use of torque sensors for GTD Class cars, with the MagCanica UHA sensor being the designated solution. Throughout the event, MagCanica provided on-site support to both GTD and Manufacturers and Customer Racing Teams, assisting with the implementation and troubleshooting of our sensors being run for the first time, helping to ensure a smooth transition into the upcoming 2025 racing season which will begin at the same Daytona track, in January.
