IMSA Roar Before the Rolex & Rolex 24

MagCanica proudly supported the IMSA Roar Before the Rolex and the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway throughout January. Mechanical Engineers Bryce Hegemier, Pedro Chavarria, and Gary Fernicola, along with Senior Software Engineer Brian Katan, worked closely with IMSA technical delegates, OEM manufacturers, and customer race teams during these back-to-back events.

As the first and largest IMSA event of the season, the Rolex 24 saw an impressive 49 cars equipped with MagCanica torque sensor systems. While these systems had been successfully utilized for closed-loop power control in the GTP Prototype class of cars for the previous two seasons, recent IMSA technical regulations now mandate use of the MagCanica UHA Torque Sensors in all GT3-style cars competing in the GTD and GTD Pro classes.

All 98 UHA driveshaft torque sensor systems ran trouble-free throughout this grueling 24-hour endurance race, with zero failures or torque sensing issues. This milestone underscored the reliability and robustness of our technology, including in the customer racing GTD category.
